We love our friends and we love working with them. When you work in design, you often find people you know asking for creative favours and we like to help out where we can because it’s always fun and refreshing to work on unexpected projects. It feels good to be able to make a difference to their business too. And we often get nice thank you presents. Not that that’s why we do it of course…
CULTURE & CULTURE
Kanako is one such friend. She set up Culture & Culture to introduce Japanese people to the world of cheese – a product that is not readily available, nor subsequently understood, in Japan. This meeting of very different cultures led to a powerful identity, merging the red circle of the Japanese flag with the roundel of a cheese wheel in a beautiful moldy hue of blue. And the two-sided identity creates a great graphic device to play with when bringing accompanying food imagery together.
We created the WordPress template for Kanako to update herself and the menus have been designed so they can be regularly changed and the inserts printed at home. All important for a product with seasonality at it’s heart.
Avalon Bespoke did a wonderful job printing business cards that feel natural yet utterly professional. And Kanako was one happy customer.
Well, that’s what friends are for.
